Mahabharat’s Bheem, actor Pravin Kumar Sobti, dies of a heart attack at 75

Actor Pravin Kumar Sobti, popular for the essay role of Bheem at Mahabharat BR Chopra, has died at the age of 75 years. Princess Kumar Nikunika to IndianExpress.com, “he died yesterday at around 9:30 a.m.. He suffered a heart attack. He died at home in Delhi In addition to playing the role of Bheem, which made him a household name, Kumar also starred in many films including Amitabh Bachchan-Starrer Shehenshah and Loha Dharmendra. Other films for their credit include Aaj Ka Arjun, Ajooba, and Ghayal, among others.
Before he became an actor, Prave was a hammer athlete and discus. The Asian Games Medaliam four times, he also represented India in 1968 Mexico and 1972 Munich Olympics. He was also respected with Arjuna Award. He worked as a deputy commander in the border security force (BSF) too.
BSF’s official Twitter account gives respect to the final actor. “The role of the icon ‘Bheem’ essayed by SH Praveen Kumar Sobti at B R Chopra Mahabharat will continue to bring back ‘soft giant’ memories,” Read Tweet. Lowered Kumar’s death, in another tweet, BSF wrote, “Director General & All BSF ranks provide unlimited BSF’s office from SH Praveen Kumar Sobti, former Deputy Commander, Arjuna Awardee, Olympian two times (1972 Munich Games and 1972) & Game Struggle Asia four times (2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze).
This actor also portrayed the Delhi Assembly election on the AAM AAM AADMI ticket in 2013.
