Ratched is the third main event of Ryan Murphy who reached Netflix exclusively and as you know, this event has been updated for the second season. But, we are now more than a year after season 1 to reach Netflix and we have little or no news about the future of the event; This is what we know so far about the 2 Ratched season.

The TV series functions as a prequel of the 1962 novel and the next film, one flying over the cuckoo nest (even though it is the package itself and can be enjoyed without seeing the original film). Among the players are Sarah Paulson (who often works together for Ryan Murphy Productions), Finn Wittrock, Cynthia Nixon, and Jon Jon Briones. The series was released to positive reviews from criticism and spectators on September 18, 2020. This series is also an award nomination magnet that earns 4 Emmy Primetime but it should be noted that it is an expensive series for Netflix. The report shows the event fee between $ 10 and $ 15 million per episode.

How well did Ratched do on Netflix?

This series is one of the most watched native Netflix today. Netflix released statistics that 48 million people had checked the show in the first four weeks of release. Nielsen’s ranking is available for the title and records 972 million minutes watched on the US only.

The top 10 can also give us an indication of how good the show is. This series is the 10th largest TV show 2022 according to Flixpatrol, which considering this series arrived at the end of the year, quite extraordinary. In the United States, the show remains in the top 10 for 28 days. In England, it appeared in the top 10 for 39 days.

Ratched Season 2 Renewal Status at Netflix

Official Netflix Update Status: Renewed (Last Updated: 09/20/2020)

Eight more episodes are at least expected to show and be ordered before season 1 out. When Ratched was taken by Netflix in September 2017, he came with an initial order of two seasons. This is a little deviant since the original press release because we got one episode more than the previous promised, but as reported by the deadline, “Ratched scored two seasons, 18-episode serial-to-serial sequence”.

Ratched came to Netflix through the Fox 21 television studio which is now no defined with politicians who are also given an upfront order (although now complete and is now not expected to return for season 3).

As you know, Ryan Murphy works with Netflix in an overall agreement with Netflix who is technically not going to play for Ratched (or indeed a politician).

What to expect from season 2 of Ratched

Season 1 of Ratched ended with the Almighty Cliffhanger because you might be very aware now.

Edmund Tolleson narrowly escaped the mental institution of meeting with Charlotte and Louise with the three heading to Mexico but would he return and finish work?

Beyond that, Digitalspy predicts we will see various explored relationships such as Ratched and Briggs and Edmund and Charlotte. Is the series beyond season 2 is another question. In an interview with Oprahmag, “We have a final game. There is the end of the story as we know, culturally, but so few are known about Mildred Ratched in films and books. There’s nothing about his past. He is a monolite. Almost like he is not really personal. “

When will Ratched season 2 begin production?

Current Production Status: Still Unknown (Last Updated: June 2022)

Now more than a year after season 1 landed on Netflix, we still don’t know when the series will return to production or where even in the development process. Given the event launched during Pandemi and its influence on production, the possibility of scheduling is the biggest problem here. Indeed, Paulson shortly after the release of season 1 gave us a clue that we were still far from the second season which said that he did not expect the shooting to begin until the end of 2021.

Another significant development in the past is how aggressive Disney in cutting their production will become rivals and buy back the show. For example, we see all the defenders’ titles leaving Netflix in early 2022 and may be more relevant to Ratched, is the fact that the 20th television series called the soundtrack was released exclusively on Netflix (although canceled after one season) was also withdrawn from the previous library this year .

If Ratched is removed from Netflix and moved to say, upstream, it involves Disney to buy back the right to the show. We were told that Ratched was licensed to Netflix exclusively with a 10 -year contract. That will make the show end in 2030 at this time. One member of the cast in the summer of 2021, Cynthia Nixon, suggested that the event would not take place with film making until early 2022. That hasn’t happened so far.

In early August 2022, Variety gave a very small update to confirm what we said above, there was no news. In a broad interview with Sarah Paulson, they stated, “He [Paulson] told variety that he did not know whether the second season was in workmanship or not.”

As noted, Ryan Murphy is still working under the whole agreement with Netflix. Not including the 20th television program, he produced 8 titles for Netflix exclusively with almost 10 in developing with large projects that will come including Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, The Watcher, and Phone Mr. Harrigan.

The agreement with Netflix expired in June 2023 and is estimated with heat to return to Disney. If he did, is it unimaginable that Disney bought the right to Ratched and season 2 go there? We have to wait and see.
