First announced in March 2021, a new animated film on female K-Pop stars which among the shows that occurred about the killing of evil spirits was announced in the development of the Sony Pictures animation. Now a year later, new submissions seem to suggest Netflix may be a film distributor.

Variety first launched the project and reported that Maggie Kang’s directors and Chris Appelhans were on board to direct. Kang is most famous for his work on Lego Ninjago’s film while the Applash is involved as a writer and aims to Netflix’s 2021 Release Wish Dragon last year (which is reported to get a sequel even though it is not clear whether it will be on Netflix.Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan are the authors of the animated project while Aron Warner (Shrek) and Scott Berri are manufacturers.Since the initial announcement of things have quietly worked behind the scenes. As a variety not, the release schedule has not been announced.

That’s where we come to Netflix. Two registered submissions recently tied the film to Netflix. Some documents show that Netflix took over the film release. In recent months, Netflix also made submissions with the same words for Nimona which was officially launched yesterday. The Sony Pictures animation does not respond to requests for comments.Of course, even if the film gets the Run Theater, it will appear on Netflix although only for the limited time given Sony and Netflix has the overall first window deal for all Sony (fine) films in the US in 2022.The only two Sony animated films confirmed for the release of theater when publishing are the next two spider: across the Spider-verse entry which will be released in October 2022 and 2023.

Moving to Netflix will not be completely out of ordinary. In 2021, Netflix partnered with Sony Animation on three projects to help increase the round film that had been influenced by the delay of Covid-19. Wish Dragon, Vivo, and Mitchells vs. Machines are all sold to Netflix. The last is a great success for Netflix and even scoring an Oscar nomination.
