Varanasi with the help of monitoring committee, Covid-19 drug kit distribution began in Varanasi on Saturday as a precautionary measure to check the third wave of Covid-19, said the Chief additional Medical Officer (ACMO), Dr. Sanjay Rai.

Judge District (DM) Kaushal Raj Sharma has bought a large number of Covid drugs for the city from the government and the monitoring committee has roamed to distribute the drug kit, he said.

“A total of 874 committees will distribute kits in rural areas under the eight primary health centers (PHC) in the Varanasi block development area. Likewise, the monitoring committee of all 90 wards will distribute covid drug kits in urban areas under 24 phc. Committees It will also distribute a kit in the Ramnagar area and gangapur, “said Dr. Rai.

Apart from this, the Covid drug kit will also be available in five other places identified, including seven Covid hospitals, train stations, buses and prisons in the city.

Dr. Rai said, “The Covid drug kit consists of different drugs for different age groups. Kits for children from birth to 1 year, and 1-5 years containing drops of paracetamol, OR and multivitamin drops. While for 5- 12 years, he has a paracetamol tablet, ivermectin 6 mg and vitamin B complex.

Azithromycin 500, ivermectin 12 mg, vitamin D3, vitamin C, zinc, vitamin B complex and paracetamol tablets are available for those with 12 years. “

Varanasi reported 21 fresh covid-19 cases

The total number of active Covid-19 cases in Varanasi increased to 46 on Saturday, with 21 more people who tested the positive virus in the district during the day.

District Judge Kaushal Raj Sharma has appealed to people to follow the Covid protocol, including wearing facial masks, often cleaning hands and maintaining two meter physical distances.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sandip Chaudhary said, “Vaccination will be conducted on 529 centers in the district in January 3. This facility will be available to people aged between 15 and 18 years.”

He said that the slot was opened for a week from 8pm on Saturday and beneficiaries would be able to get vaccination from 10am.

“Now, six people can be registered on the Cowin portal with one cellphone number. Special vaccination center in the afternoon / night at Sigra Stadium and LT College, orderly bazaar, will also operate from 7am to 10pm,” he added.
